About the Course
This course is an introduction on the use of contemplative creative approach and practices in psychotherapy and clinical practice. There are seven modules, these modules have to be taken in order as they go in a linear fashion from framework, theory, to the CCT 7 levels model to training the embodied mind. Then, we look at each level of the model with methodology and experiential practices.

*It is a recommended, but not mandatory, to have taken the course "Origins and Foundations of the Contemplative Creative Science" prior to taking this course.
Module 1 – CCS framework, neuroscience, and postures
In the first module, participants learn about the Contemplative Creative Psychotherapy (CCT) framework, theory, and the CCT model of 7 levels to train the embodied mind is used with clients in psychotherapy. We will also learn about how neuroscience and the use of the "Triune Brain" general model help clients understand better their nervous system and relation to learned patterns and strategies. Clinical applications will be discussed.
Module 2 - #1 Intention; #2 Stabilization
In the second module, we will explore 'intention', and 'Stabilization' by looking at definitions, and using meditation and contemplative creative practices (CCP). Clinical applications will be discussed. Clinical applications will be discussed.
Module 3 – #3 Balance and Calm-Abiding
In the third module, we will explore 'Balance' and 'Calm-Abiding' practices by looking at definitions, using mindfulness meditation, and CCP. Clinical applications will be discussed. Clinical applications will be discussed.
Module 4 - #4 Familiarization with Functions and Content of Mind
In this module, we will explore 'Familiarization' with functions, processes, and content of the embodied mind. We will use meditation and CCP for you to experience this method of familiarization. Clinical applications will be discussed.
Module 5 - #5 Deconstruction of Schema and Habitual Patterns
In the fifth module, you will learn about the method of 'Deconstruction' that cultivates discernment of conditioning, schema, and habitual patterns. We will use meditation and CCP for you to experience this method of familiarization. Clinical applications will be discussed.
Module 6 - #6 Contemplation and Cultivation of Qualities
In the sixth module, you will explore 'Contemplation' that cultivates vigilance of mind discrimination, biases, habits, and tendencies. Then, we will look at meditation that can be used to cultivate compassion and equanimity, and how to use CCP. Clinical applications will be discussed.
Module 7 - #7 Engaged Action and Empowerment in Everyday Life
In this last module, you will review the 7 levels of the CCT model to train the embodied mind and how engaged action and empowerment of clients are embedded in this progressive therapy. We will use meditation and CCP to deepen engaged action in everyday life. Clinical applications will be discussed.

Helping professionals who have already been introduced to clinical meditations and the research to support it**, either through attending mindfulness-, compassion-based protocols and therapies (such as MBSR, MBCT, DBT), or equivalent.

**THIS COURSE IS NOT a substitute for professional training in mental health professions, and/or creative art therapies.
This CCP introductory course will be offered periodically throughout the year.
