Mental health and healthcare professionals often seek ways to deepen their practice and expand their therapeutic skills. This fall, two online courses offer a unique opportunity to explore embodied, creative, and non-pathologizing approaches to therapy. These trainings combine foundational knowledge, experiential learning, and clinical reflection, with a focus on contemplative creative therapy and meditation-informed interventions. Both courses are taught in English and designed for practitioners and advanced trainees.

Meditation and Creative Arts Therapies: CCT Origins and Foundations

The first course, Meditation & Creative Arts Therapies: CCT Origins and Foundations, runs from September 14 to October 12, 2026. It takes place on Mondays from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Paris time, which corresponds to 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Toronto time. This five-week online course invites participants to explore the historical, philosophical, spiritual, and creative roots of Contemplative Creative Therapy (CCT).

Participants engage with meditation, Dharma teachings, Dharma Art, creative expression, and embodied practices. These elements help them understand how contemplative traditions can be thoughtfully integrated into modern therapeutic work. The course emphasizes cultural awareness and ethical sensitivity, which are essential when blending contemplative science with clinical practice.

This training is ideal for those who want to ground their work in the origins of contemplative creative therapy. It offers a solid foundation for applying meditation-informed interventions in ways that respect diverse cultural backgrounds and ethical considerations.

Mindfulness and Creative Arts Therapy: Applied Clinical Practice

Following the foundational course, the Mindfulness & Creative Arts Therapy: Applied Clinical Practice course runs from October 26 to November 30, 2026. It also meets on Mondays at the same times as the first course. This six-week online training is designed specifically for mental health professionals and advanced trainees.

The focus here is on integrating mindfulness and creative arts therapy into clinical settings. Participants engage in guided practices, reflective inquiry, and clinical applications. These activities support the development of embodied, process-oriented skills that enhance emotional awareness, regulation, identity work, and narrative therapy.

This course builds on the foundational knowledge of contemplative creative therapy and offers practical tools for clinical use. It helps practitioners develop both creative and mindful skills, fostering a therapeutic environment that supports clients’ emotional, psychological and embodied growth.

Why These Trainings Matter for Contemporary Practice

Both courses reflect a growing interest in non-pathologizing, integrative, and collaborative approaches to mental health care. Instead of focusing solely on symptoms or diagnoses, contemplative creative therapy (CCT) encourages practitioners to engage with clients’ experiences through the eight-level CCT model of embodied mind training, which includes meditation practices, creativity, and embodied awareness.

The CCT approach aligns well with current trends in mental health that emphasize holistic care. It supports emotional regulation and identity work in ways that are respectful and culturally sensitive. By combining Western psychology with Buddhist psychology and creative arts therapies, these courses offer a rich, integrative framework.

The Lojong Center for Contemplative Creative Science, which offers these trainings, aims to become a leading resource for professionals seeking specialized clinical education. Their programs help clinicians deepen their understanding of contemplative science and apply it effectively in therapeutic settings.

How to Register and What to Expect

Registration is now open for both courses. Interested professionals can learn more and sign up at www.contemplativecreativescience.com.

Each course is delivered online, making it accessible to participants in different time zones, including Paris and Toronto. The format combines live sessions with opportunities for reflection and practice between classes. This structure supports a gradual and meaningful integration of new skills.

Participants can expect a supportive learning environment where they can explore meditation, creative arts, and clinical reflection. The courses encourage active engagement and provide tools that can be immediately applied in professional practice.

For those interested in exploring these innovative approaches, registering for the fall courses is a meaningful next step. The integration of contemplative science and creative arts therapy offers new possibilities for clinical practice and personal growth.
